Orcs & Goblins in May!

Hey all, just got an e-mail from GW (I know, it was just for me and not the thousands of people on their mailing list, fuck you I'm special), looks like O&G are next up to get a new book.

Thank fucking Gork!

Here's what I'm looking forward to:

-Animosity scrapped or made less retarded (Ld test beforehand, units within range of the General/BSB ignore it, or make it like Beasts and have it random but beneficial)

-Orcs, Black Orcs, Savage Orcs, Board Boyz, and the like dropped in cost across the board. They're just too damn expensive at present and it sucks

-Black Orcs as Core if you field a Black Orc Boss (or Grimgor, whatevs)

-Some real skirmishers and/or Scouts. Squig Hoppers are funny and all, but Goblin scouts would be most useful.

-Better magic and items, seriously

-Make Trolls special

And, the big one:

Make more Orky stuff! Come on, bring on the funny stuff (but not random and stupid). Looted Steam Tank, giant battering ram powered by Squigs, Squig catapult, looted anything, souped up chariots, a flying contraption (or goblins with fake wings and/or Night Gobbies spinning around to make helicopter blades) that shoots green lazorz, and a giant robot.

Boss goes with the Burnaz for Ld and PK power, Big Mek rides with the Nobs.

We've got 4 wagons rolling up to grind people's faces, 2 Loota squads to blast light armor, Buggies for mobile firepower/movement blocking/annoyance, an alpha strike Kopta, and Grotz for good measure.

Burnas are amusing to me, with the Warboss in tow they make up for their big issues (no bosspole, shit Ld, nothing above S4) and can either BBQ anything or carve things up.

Should be fun.

And hey, remember at all times that while this seems to be crazy good, remember that in order to get in kill range, I have to get my open-topped narrow-as-hell transport within 12", otherwise known as melta happy-land. KFF or no, a BWagon within 12" goes boom. It gets better when I have to waste a ram going after an empty Rhino or, even worse, a Speeder dodging and stopping me in my tracks.

The Deff Rolla working as Gork (or possibly Mork) intended doesn't catapult Orks into awesomeness, it just gives them a better chance against heavy armor. All the problems are still there, it's just giving us a little crutch to prop the Codex up until we can get something better.

Seems I was right all along, suck it unbelievers!

Time to finish up my 4th Battlewagon, list to follow.

I also take a perverse pleasure in seeing the INAT overturned, so much for amateur hour game design! I'll bet the IFAIL's Doom of Malantai ruling gets overturned too.

There was a tournament today, first of the year. I wanted to go, but I made a couple promises to myself on the 1st of the year. One of them was never going to a tournament without a painted army, and I aim to keep that one. I've got too much stuff lying around unpainted or even unbuilt. With tournaments alternating between 40k and Fantasy every month, that gives me 2 months to get my models up to snuff.

For the Fantasy I'll be bringing my Skaven, all I'm missing is a Furnace and some conversions (Jezzails and Weapon Teams). All told, around 150 models is a daunting prospect, but I need to discipline myself and I can get it done.

For 40k I'll get my SW cav army done. It's just down to getting another box of Chaos Knights, converting them and my other marines and getting it all painted.

Should be fun, and I'll be documenting my progress as it happens.
