The Battle for Salvation GT is fast approaching. We're a week out from the main event and it's shaping up to be a rousing success like NOVA. The format looks great and there's a huge crowd coming out. A veritable who's who of bloggers and internet personalities will be in attendance, yours truly included.
So, as the hype builds I'm putting the finishing touches on my list and models. It'll be Loganwing, of course, just tweaked.

6 Long Fangs, 2 lascannons, 3 heavy bolters
2x 5 Long Fangs, 4 missile launchers

So, a couple changes from my NOVA list. I added in combi weapons to give me a little extra insurance against higher AVs and tough stuff like MCs. The combi-plasmas are an experiment on a unit made for holding objectives. Double tapping with 2 plasma guns and a cyclone should do plenty of damage to junk like MCs, Sanguinary Guard and the like that get too close for comfort.
The real sticklers for me are the Lone Wolves and Long Fangs. I went for Thunder Hammers to make use of their effect, knocking problem units down to I1. They have a tendency to get killed off before they can swing, but with bad guys at I1 I stand a much better chance of at least taking them with me. The same could be done for the TWC of course. Chainfists work great against armor too, so I'm very much on the fence.
With the Long Fangs, I had considered swapping weapons around. I only have 8 missile launchers, so no changing that, but I could swap out to go with 2 LC/2 ML and 2 ML/3 HB instead of what I have now. HBs provide great torrent fire for cheap, while the LC/ML combo would fit better with Logan providing Tank Hunters.
I'm going to be doing some testing and analysis of my own, but any input from my friends out there would be great.

Heh, not sure how awesome 3 heavy bolters are, honestly. You say they're 'cheap' (and relative to other upgrades, they are) but they still cost like 20 points, after you buy the Fang to go with them. 9 shots/turn with them will net you 6 hits, and 4 wounds. So, you can kill a marine a turn with them.
Or, you can kill 2 orks who are in cover. I spose you can get a 'guaranteed' glance on an AV 11, or something too, if you're worried about Razorspam. Anyways, not a fan.
Otherwise, it looks pretty good. I've never played against a good Loganwing player, so I think by nature I'm disdainful of a foot-slogging marine army, but you seem to do well with it. If you're doing well, you don't want to change *too* much.
Good luck! Take pictures!
I like it better than the NOVA list.
I would swap Hammers over to the TWC though... More mobility, more attacks. Don't forget in addition to the initiative reduction to units that survive 1 hit, you get an additional "Shaken" result on vehicles you damage. Helps when you score a weapon destroyed result on a multi weapon tank.
I'll see if I can sneak out for a game next week.
Chainfists >> Thunder Hammers every time. The hammer helps against what like 4 things? Wraithlords, Nid MC, CTan, DP and EW characters? Other than Nids not a lot of scary there and like a hundred krak missiles handle Nids nicely.
Yes, but he has 18 missiles, 3 lascannons, and 4 combi meltas to handle armor.
And he stated the reason for switching to hammers was more survivability when taking on MC's for multiple phases.
If you wanna punch a land raider, yeah a chainfist is better. 3 lascannons with Logan for tank hunters will do the same job before it gets in your face with hammernators.
Why the powerfists on the Thunderwolf Cavalry and not the Wolf Claw + Meltabomb?
I like having multiple S10 attacks over 1 S8+2D6. These guys are my big game hunters and wounding or insta-killing damn near everything on a 2+ is wonderful.
