This is the Daemon army I typically use. It's got a good amount of firepower, mobility, CC, and a mix of unit types if that's what you're into. It may seem somewhat familiar to some folks, but I have no idea what you're talking about.
HQ
3x Herald of Tzeentch - chariot, Bolt of Tzeentch, Soul Devourer
Elites
3x Fiends - 6, 1 w/ Unholy Might
Troops
2x Bloodletters - 10
4x Plaguebearers - 5
Heavy Support
3x Daemon Prince - Mark of Tzeentch, Bolt of Tzeentch, Daemonic Gaze
Total - 2000
That's 6 bolts, 6 sets of Daemonic Gaze, 3 jetbikes, 3 cav units, and pretty much everything is capable of doing something in HtH. The word of the day is flexibility. Everything is multi-role, except for the Troops of course. Bloodletters are in because I really lack a unit that is good in HtH, that and I can usually live without 'em and any shots going their way don't go towards my Fiends, Tzeralds and DPs. I could drop them for 22 Flesh Hounds and Karanak, but I have another list for that :P
I went for Soul Devourer on the Heralds simple because I had 45 points and don't feel We Are Legion and Master of Sorcery to be totally necessary, but it's still up in the air. On the charge, a Tzerald on a chariot can put out a lot of good attacks and ignoring armor saves is always handy. The Diresword ability not so much.
So that's my list.

Hah! I was about to comment "Soul Devourer is the Power Weapon, right?" when you ninja'd me there.
List looks fairly solid for Daemons.
"List looks fairly solid for Daemons."
That's about the best you can hope for with this Codex.
WS2 sucks, but 5 S5 power weapon attacks can surprise some people.
I actually rolled with this list a bit. It's not bad, but it's about as balanced as I think the book gets.
Past that, there's the massed flesh hounds/fiends build whose speed is 'in your face'.
There's also the comedic value in watching a Tzeentch unit chop someone up. They don't expect that...
I've found the same. Daemons are just unbalanced by their very nature, but anything you can do to give them a bit more control, a bit more flexibility, or just a way to try and mitigate their silly debilitating rules helps loads.
